NOSS Accounting Level 4 and 5

Do real accounting work. Keep the evidence.

Accounting trainees at a long oak table working on laptops while an instructor reviews a screen with them

Orbit Finance records real bookkeeping work as evidence against Malaysia's NOSS Accounting standards: Level 4 (FB-100-4:2012, the DKM level) and Level 5 (FB-100-5:2012, the DLKM level). Trainees earn an Orbit Certificate of Competency Practice and export an evidence portfolio to support an SKM application through JPK's PPT route.

What counts as evidence in Orbit Finance?

Each competency unit is broken into the standard's own assessment criteria. Orbit marks a criterion as evidenced when the trainee does the work in the books, not when they click through a lesson.

  • Actions in the books, such as adding an asset or posting a journal
  • Checks the app runs, such as depreciation and the PPE schedule
  • Short quizzes on the knowledge behind each criterion
  • Assessor sign-off where the standard needs a human judgement

Which competency units are covered?

Every unit in both standards, by its own code and title.

How does the certificate route work?

  1. Practise

Run a real or demo company in Orbit Finance. The Level 4 and Level 5 workspaces track each criterion as you work.

  2. Close the gaps

Eligibility shows what is still missing per unit. An assessor signs off the criteria that need a human.

  3. Get the Orbit certificate

Issue a Certificate of Competency Practice per unit or level. Anyone can check it at orbitsuite.io/verify.

  4. Apply for SKM

Export the evidence portfolio and take it to a Pusat Bertauliah or JPK's PPT route for the official award.

Orbit Finance is not a Pusat Bertauliah and does not award SKM, DKM or DLKM.

Who is it for?

Trainees

Build a portfolio from real work while you learn, ready for a PPT application.

Training providers

Give each trainee and assessor a role, then review evidence unit by unit.

SME owners

Turn the books you already keep into recognised proof of what you can do.

What should you know before you start?

What is NOSS?

NOSS is the National Occupational Skills Standard set by Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran (JPK) under the Ministry of Human Resources. It defines the competency units for a job at each level. Accounting has standards at Level 4 (FB-100-4:2012) and Level 5 (FB-100-5:2012).

Does Orbit Finance award SKM, DKM or DLKM?

No. Only a JPK-accredited centre (Pusat Bertauliah) or JPK itself awards SKM, DKM or DLKM. Orbit issues its own Certificate of Competency Practice and an evidence portfolio that supports your application.

What is the PPT route?

PPT (Pengiktirafan Pencapaian Terdahulu) is JPK's recognition of prior achievement. You show evidence of competencies you already have instead of attending the full course. The Orbit portfolio is prepared to support that application; JPK decides eligibility.

Do I need SKM Level 3 first?

The Level 4 standard lists SKM Level 3 in Accounting as its prerequisite, and Level 5 lists DKM Level 4. Check your own eligibility with JPK or your Pusat Bertauliah before applying.

How is an Orbit certificate verified?

An issued certificate carries a verification code and QR. Anyone can confirm it at orbitsuite.io/verify. Only the holder name, units, assessor, assessment date and consent are sent to issue it; nothing from the books leaves the device.

The standards are from 2012. Is the law current?

The 2012 standards cite some laws and reporting rules that have since been replaced. Orbit Finance teaches current Malaysian law and labels where it differs from the standard's wording.
