v0.31.023 Ogos 2026

In-app guides for every screen, Google Drive sync, and Orbit HR

Learn the app while you use it

  • Every screen now has a Guide. Open it from the top bar and you get what the screen is for, the steps for each job, and what each action does to your books in debit and credit terms.
  • All 75 modules are covered, in English and Bahasa Melayu.
  • Guides say what actually posts. Where a screen only reads your books and posts nothing, it says so plainly.

Sync with Google Drive

  • Alongside device pairing and your own database, you can now sync through Google Drive. Sign in with Google and Orbit keeps your books in a hidden folder that belongs to this app alone.
  • Your books are encrypted on your device before anything is uploaded, with a passphrase that never leaves your machine. Whoever stores the files, Google included, holds data they cannot read.
  • Sync now opens as tabs: Pair a device, Manual, Google Drive. Pick one, ignore the rest.

Connect Orbit HR

  • Link Orbit HR and your payroll runs and approved expense claims come across as journal entries, per employee, with names.
  • When HR is connected, Finance's own payroll and claim entry switch off, so one figure has one source.

Settings you can find things in

  • Business Details, Payment Details and four other settings pages are now tabs instead of long stacked panels.
  • The full Orbit Finance logo shows on mobile, not a bare glyph.
  • On a phone the table search gets its own row, so it is a search box rather than a stub beside four icon buttons.

Team: remove someone who signs in

  • You can now remove an account from Settings > Team. They can no longer sign in, and their past entries stay in the books, including their name against any period they closed.
  • The username frees up, so a new person can take the same handle. They get a new account, not the old one reopened.
  • You cannot remove your own account or the last one left, because either would lock you out of your own books.

Mobile and tablet

  • Notifications now open as a panel that fits the screen instead of running off the left edge, with a count on the bell, an Unread tab, and Today / Earlier grouping.
  • Card action rows span the card: the labelled action on the left, the menu on the right.
  • Approval cards no longer squeeze the title into three lines to make room for the buttons.
  • The document builder header stops crowding the total against Cancel and Save.

Fixes

  • Cash In & Out: one "Match statement" button covers bank and e-wallet imports, and "Add transaction" opens single or batch entry from the same menu. It was three competing buttons, two of them nearly the same words.
  • The e-wallet import is named for what it does, which is bringing in your transaction history.
  • Hiding amounts now masks the digits in place instead of laying a panel over them.
  • Received payments reach the cash book.
  • The General Ledger agrees with the Trial Balance on inventory adjustments.
  • Undoing a loan payment reverses the late charge with it.
  • The calculators are one column: the answer sits under the figures that produce it, instead of beside a column of empty space.
  • Sync & Backup no longer opens blank on builds without Google Drive configured.
v0.30.020 Ogos 2026

Safer migration, loan arrears, and four new business types

Moving in from another accounting system

  • Opening balances are now checked before anything posts. You see what will land, what did not match, and what your file totalled, and nothing touches your books until you press the button.
  • Account codes we do not recognise are listed by name, and you pick where each one belongs. Before, they were quietly skipped.
  • If your file does not balance, we tell you by how much and ask you to accept the difference. It used to be posted into Accumulated Profit without a word, which left books that balanced and were wrong.
  • Adding a company now asks whether you are starting fresh or moving from another system. Choose moving, and you land straight on the importer instead of an empty dashboard.
  • Import and Backup & restore are now separate settings pages. Bringing data in and taking it out are different jobs.

Loans: catch up on missed months, and record the late charge

  • Tick the months a payment covered and record them in one go, matching the single transfer that actually left your account. "Select all overdue" does it in one press.
  • The principal and interest split is read from your schedule instead of typed from memory.
  • There is a late charge field. Set your loan's late-charge rate from your letter of offer and Orbit suggests the amount; change it to whatever the bank actually charged.
  • Nothing is suggested until you enter your own rate, because a rate we invented is a rate nobody checks.
  • Late charges are booked as a bank charge, not as interest, so your interest paid still matches your loan schedule.

More kinds of business

  • Four new business types: contractor and construction, workshop and automotive, clinic and healthcare, education and tuition centre. Each switches on the right screens, and all four keep Fixed assets, because the excavator, the lift and the clinic equipment are the business.
  • The company form now offers all seven SSM entity types, including PLT, Sdn Bhd and Berhad. It previously offered only sole proprietor and partnership, so anything else had to be corrected afterwards.

Fixes

  • Your cash-flow chart has a proper scale now: gridlines, figures down the side, and a zero line so a loss reads as a loss. Hovering any day shows the exact amount.
  • Amounts in tables are never shortened. A figure reading "RM 2,359..." is a different number, not a tidier one, and the loan schedule was doing it to every row.
  • The Rekod button on the loan schedule was cut off at the edge of the table.
  • "What's new" printed the version twice and ran as paragraphs; it reads as bullets now.
  • On the floor plan, the title no longer breaks across two lines.
v0.28.017 Ogos 2026

Bank colour cards and bulk time logging

Your cards can take your bank's colour

  • New card style called Bank colour. Pick it and the card takes the colour of whichever bank that account is with, so your Maybank account looks like Maybank and your CIMB account looks like CIMB.
  • Two accounts at the same bank now look like a pair, on the Bank screen and on your dashboard. You do not match anything up by hand.
  • Name a different bank later and the card follows on its own.
  • The colour is worked into a deep card rather than used flat, because most bank colours are exactly the shade where a balance stops being readable. All eighteen banks were measured, so whichever you pick, the number you came to read is still the easiest thing on the card.

Log a whole week of time in one go

  • The timesheet has a Bulk log button. It opens a grid: fill in as many rows as you need, duplicate a row when it is the same project again, and save the lot in one press.
  • You can bring in a CSV, which is the answer to a month of time sitting in someone else's spreadsheet. Columns are Date, Project, Hours, Description, Billable.
  • A project is matched on either its number or its name.
  • Nothing is saved when you import. Rows land in the grid for you to check, with anything unreadable marked and waiting.
  • If a project name matches two of your projects it says so and asks you to pick, rather than choosing one and hoping.
  • Hours written as 7,5 are read as seven and a half, and dates are read the way this app writes them everywhere else, so 3/4 is the third of April.

Smaller things

  • The rules page reads as two proper sections now. Your list of rules has a heading and its own block instead of floating loose under the suggestions.
  • That block also says how rules actually work: checked in priority order, first match wins.
v0.27.017 Ogos 2026

Financial calculators, bank cards, and investments that count your payouts

Six financial calculators, in the top bar

Car loan, home loan, debt payoff, income tax, margin, break even. Open the calculator button beside "+ New" from wherever you are, or browse them all at Calculators.

The car loan one knows how Malaysian hire purchase actually works. Dealers quote a flat rate on the original price for the whole term; banks quote a reducing rate. They are not the same number, and 3.5% flat is nearer 6.4% the way a bank would say it. Both are shown, so you can put a dealer's offer next to a personal loan and see which is dearer.

Deposit as a percentage or in ringgit, tenure presets that match the product (5, 7 or 9 years for a car; 20, 30 or 35 for a house), an optional extra monthly payment, and a year-by-year schedule. Extra payments are only offered on a reducing loan, because paying extra on a flat one does not work the way people expect.

Debt payoff compares snowball against avalanche and tells you the difference in ringgit, so the choice is yours to make with the number in front of you. Income tax uses the bands stored in your own file for the current year of assessment. Break even says it in words: "sell 250 units, or RM 12,500, to cover your fixed costs".

Your bank accounts look like cards now

Each account gets a proper card at real card proportions, in a style you pick: eight of them, from Midnight through to Sand. Set it per account, so the current account and the cash drawer stop looking identical at a glance.

Name the bank on a card and it carries that bank's mark. Click a card and its account number is on your clipboard, which is the reason you opened the screen.

The cards also sit on your dashboard under the bank balance, and each account's colour now shows in the transfer and deposit-slip pickers, so a dropdown row and its card read as the same thing.

Investments count what your money actually paid you

If you hold ASB, ASM, EPF or Tabung Haji, this screen used to tell you they had earned nothing. It was only counting price movement, and those funds barely move in price: they pay their whole return as a distribution once a year.

You can now log those payouts. A holding shows its income, its yield on cost, and a total return that adds the two together. In our own test portfolio, ASB went from "RM 0.00, 0%" to "RM 1,070, 10.7%", and the portfolio total from RM 1,400 to RM 2,870, because it can finally see the half of the return that was always there.

There is also an allocation bar, a value-over-time chart built from the prices you have entered, and a warning when a price is more than three months old. There is no market feed in this app on purpose, so a price is only as current as you last made it, and now it says so.

New Products tab: compare ASB, ASB2, ASM, EPF, Tabung Haji and the rest, and add one as a holding. You enter each declared rate yourself and date it. Nothing here comes with a rate already filled in, because a rate the app invented is a rate nobody checks, and last year's is wrong by March.

Point of sale talks to the books about more than sales

Staff commission, goods arriving from suppliers, customers settling what they owe on credit, and tips.

Each one is booked the way an accountant would. Commission is a cost, not money taken off the takings. A tip is money you are holding for the person who earned it, so it never inflates your revenue or your SST. A delivery creates stock and what you owe the supplier, not a bill, because the supplier's invoice turns up later for a different amount. And a credit sale finally has its other half: the day the customer pays, that cash appears.

If a batch arrives twice, nothing is charged twice.

Shops with more than one branch can label each till's batch with a short code they choose, and roll sales up per branch.

Fixes

  • Bills & Income scrolled sideways and hid the left edge of the page under the sidebar. The calendar and overdue cards were refusing to shrink into their column.
  • On Savings Goals, the two challenge buttons sat at the far edge of the window, a long way from the heading they belong to.
  • Business Details crashed when you pressed Edit.
  • The logo panel was offered to household accounts, which have no logo.
  • A stray "0" appeared in the fiscal years table.
  • The four tax screens shared one percent-sign icon between them.
  • In the financial pack, the signing block picks a director from your register instead of asking you to retype the name and NRIC.
  • A zakat rate of 0 came back as 2.5 after saving.
  • An overpayment now becomes credit you can spend on the next invoice, and the Refund option only appears on invoices that actually received cash.
  • Deleting a settled invoice is refused rather than leaving its payments pointing at nothing.
  • Roughly forty grids across the app could overflow their container on a narrow window or with the sidebar open. All fixed, and a check now stops the pattern coming back.
v0.26.013 Ogos 2026

Waiter ordering, statements for every account type, POS import

Your waiters can take orders on their own phones

No app to install, no device to buy. The counter mints a link, the waiter opens it on whatever phone is in their pocket, and that is the whole setup. Print the QR once and stick it by the pass.

The phone takes the order and nothing else. It cannot take payment, void a line, give a discount, or show you the day's takings, and that is not a setting you could switch on by accident: those routes do not exist on it. The counter stays the only place money is handled.

Dine in or pickup. For a table, pick the table and the party size. For a pickup, type the name you will call out when the bag is ready. Add items, add a remark on any one of them, check the summary, send. The kitchen ticket prints at the pass and the order appears at the counter in the same second, announced by name, so nobody has to notice it.

Come back to a table that is already eating and you add to the bill it already has, rather than opening a second one by mistake.

Financial statements, for every kind of account

Personal and couple accounts used to be told, politely, that financial statements were not for them. That was true of the five ledger statements and untrue of the need.

There is now a Financial Statements screen for a household, in a household's words. What you are worth: what you own by category, what you owe, and net worth as the number at the top. Income and spending: where the money came from, where it went, whether you kept any of it, and what percentage. On a couple account it splits by whose money it was, using your own names.

Both print together as one plain page you can hand to a bank or a landlord.

Businesses are untouched: the same five statements, and they never see the household one.

A pickup order you can tell apart

A takeaway has no table, so it used to show up at the counter as "Walk-in bill", and two of them meant opening both to find out which was which. Now it carries the name the waiter typed.

Sales from Orbit POS come into your books

If you run the separate Orbit POS till app, its completed sales now import into Orbit Finance. Every batch is checked in full before anything posts, and a batch that fails is quarantined whole with the reason beside it, rather than half applied. Z reports and deposits come across too: a deposit is money you are holding, so it books as one, never as takings.

Sample data worth training on

Load a full set of records with one button, and pick the shape that fits: a retail shop, a restaurant with a floor plan and tables mid-service, a freelancer, or a household.

Everything is dated against today, so the overdue invoice is genuinely overdue on the day you look at it and something is always due this week. Before, the dates ran from the start of your financial year, which meant half the invoices sat in the future and nothing was ever late.

And you can clear it again. Run a session, wipe it, start the next one clean. It refuses on any company it did not fill itself, so it can never be pointed at real books.

The quantity box on an invoice, which you could not see

On the invoice editor the Qty box was squeezed to almost nothing by the Unit box beside it. Both were there and working, and only one of them was visible, which is why it came in as two separate reports: no quantity field, and no unit of measure. The column is now wide enough for both, the same width quotations have always used.

The Invoices list also offered a "Paid" filter that could never match anything, because a fully paid invoice moves to Receipts. It has been removed, so nothing is left suggesting your paid invoices went missing. They are, and always were, under Receipts.

Switching to a personal account brings the right categories

If you created your books as a business and later switched to Personal, you kept the business categories: Sales and Purchases, but no Groceries, no Housing, no Childcare. Switching now brings the household categories with it. Nothing you already used is removed.

v0.25.011 Ogos 2026

Table service, kitchen printing, and item notes

Your restaurant floor, on the till

Orbit now runs table service, not just a counter.

Draw your shop first. Every shop is a different shape, so you sketch the room with a pen, freehand, and Orbit snaps the walls square for you. Draw a second area beside the first and the two join into one floor. Add the kitchen, the door, the bar. Then place tables on it: round, square, six seats, two. More than one floor if you have an upstairs.

The floor screen is then the whole job. Every table shows what it is carrying and how long the diners have been sitting. Tap a free table to seat a party, tap a busy one to open its bill.

The bill, the way a restaurant actually works

Order as you go. Each item steps up and down on the row you are already looking at. Send the new items to the kitchen and only the NEW ones go, never the whole evening again.

Split the bill by item or evenly between any number of people, and each part pays on its own method and prints its own receipt. Move a party to a bigger table. Merge two tables that turned out to be one group. Someone walks out without paying and the stock comes back with a note saying why.

Kitchen orders on paper

Turn it on in the till settings and sending an order prints a kitchen ticket. It is not a receipt with the prices taken off. It is a different document: no money anywhere, quantities in large type you can read at arm's length over a pass, and the modifier spelled out in capitals on its own line, because a missed "no ice" is a plate coming back.

Reprint one when a ticket goes missing, and the paper says REPRINT so nobody cooks it twice.

A note on any item

"No ice." "Kurang manis." "Gift wrap it." Add a remark to a single item, at the counter or at the table, and it travels to both places it needs to be: the kitchen ticket the cook works from, and the receipt the customer takes home.

Closing the till

Open a shift, and at the end of the day count the drawer. Orbit tells you what should be in it and what the difference is. It never refuses to close because you are RM 2 short, because a till that argues is a till that gets closed by typing the expected number in.

Income tax, corrected

If your chargeable income is under RM 35,000 you are entitled to a RM 400 rebate, and Orbit was not applying it. Your estimate was up to RM 400 too high, which is exactly the amount that matters most to the people it affects. Fixed, including the second RM 400 for a spouse with no income of their own under joint assessment.

Tax reliefs also now have one home. Whether you typed an amount into the estimate or claimed it from a receipt, the figure agrees with itself and your receipts are never double-counted.

Everywhere else

Every corner in the app now comes from one system rather than being chosen screen by screen, so buttons, cards and panels finally agree with each other.

v0.24.09 Ogos 2026

Debt payoff, business loans, and tax relief with receipts

A date to be debt-free by

Debt Payoff used to be a calculator. You typed a monthly amount, saw two numbers, closed the app, and nothing was kept. It could not help you, because there was nothing to be on or off track against.

Now you commit to an amount, pick snowball or avalanche, and the screen leads with the thing that actually matters: the month you become debt-free. Under it, how far you have already come, as a figure that only ever goes up. Paid RM 33,800 of RM 65,000 reads very differently from RM 31,200 still owed, and it is the same fact.

Log each payment and the balance moves for real. A chart shows what you actually paid against what you planned, so the month you pay extra, you can see yourself pulling ahead. Orbit reminds you before an instalment is due and tells you when one slips.

When a debt is cleared it stays on the screen with a tick and the date. You did that, and the app should not quietly delete the evidence.

Loans and hire purchase, for the business side

Record a bank term loan or a hire purchase, and Orbit keeps the repayment schedule and the bookkeeping in step. Every instalment splits itself correctly: the principal comes off the loan, the interest goes to expenses. That split is the whole job, and getting it wrong is why a loan account never quite closes.

Malaysian lenders quote two very different things as a percentage, so Orbit asks which one your agreement uses. A flat 4% hire purchase and a 4% reducing balance term loan are not the same deal, and the app now says so where you choose.

Thinking of settling early? Orbit estimates the payoff, including the term charges rebate a hire purchase owes you under the Rule of 78. It is an estimate and it says so, because it cannot know your bank's fees.

Tax relief, with the receipt attached

Every relief in the LHDN schedule for YA 2025, with its real cap. Orbit shows two numbers for each: what you spent, and what you may actually claim after the cap. Where they differ it tells you, because that is when you can still do something about it.

Attach the receipt to the claim. A photo or a PDF, kept with the figure it belongs to. LHDN can ask for it up to seven years after you file, and a receipt in a shoebox is a claim you cannot defend.

Spotted an expense in Cash In and Out that qualifies? Claim it right there. The amount and date come across on their own.

Smaller things

A quotation you converted into an invoice no longer disappears. It stays, marked converted, and says which invoice it became. The same goes for every sales document and for purchase orders.

Long lists of quotations, sale orders and delivery orders are paged now, so a busy year does not turn into an endless scroll.

The Windows app icon is sharp again, at every size.

v0.23.06 Ogos 2026

Real margins, recipes, and per-document SST exemption

Know what you actually earn

Your profit margin is finally a real number. Until now, buying stock counted as a cost the moment you paid for it, so the month you stocked up looked like a loss, and the month you sold it looked too good. Orbit now counts stock as a cost when you *sell* it, which is how your margin really works. Your stock on hand also shows up on the balance sheet, where it belongs.

Your earlier years are left exactly as you filed them.

Recipes, for anyone who makes what they sell

Give a product a recipe, 250 g flour, 2 eggs, a batch that makes 12, 8% waste, and Orbit works out what one really costs, using what your ingredients are worth today. Buy flour in 25 kg sacks and use grams? It handles the conversion.

Record what you make and Orbit takes the ingredients out of stock and puts the finished items in.

Every product has its own page

Pricing, recipe, production history, and what it has actually earned, invoiced, sold over the counter, quoted but not yet won, and what you paid for it.

Inventory

New Production and Stock take tabs. The stock take is a proper count sheet: type what is on the shelf, and only the differences post.

Point of sale

  • A redesigned receipt with your logo, your details and the total where the customer looks first.
  • Loyalty now tells the customer where they stand: "7 of 10 stamps, 3 more to your free drink".
  • Preview a receipt before printing it.
  • Amend a sale when a customer spots a problem: the items come back into the cart, and charging again issues a fresh receipt.

Also in this release

  • Turn SST off for a single invoice, receipt, quotation or order when it does not apply, with a reason that prints on the document.
  • Choose English or Bahasa Malaysia on the very first screen.
  • All SSM business types when you set up: sole proprietorship, partnership, PLT, Sdn Bhd, Berhad.
  • No logo? Turn it off, and your documents use your business name instead.
  • Hire a Pro: get an estimate for a bookkeeper, auditor or tax agent based on your own books.
  • Units like kg, carton or month now print properly on documents that mix them.
  • A dashboard that fits how your business actually runs.
v0.22.03 Ogos 2026

AI Rules, and a crash fixed in editing a quotation's PIC

AI Rules: teach the AI once, it follows every time

Fixed: editing a quotation or invoice's "person in charge" could crash

  • Picking a name from the dropdown on that field could crash the screen instead of saving it, this is fixed

New: Your rules (Settings, AI)

  • Write a plain-English instruction once, like "treat Grab and Foodpanda receipts as travel expense, not meals," and the AI follows it every time it reads a receipt, scans a bank statement, or drafts anything else
  • These rules only ever guide what the AI suggests, never what gets posted to your books, so a rule can shape a draft but can't change your ledger on its own
  • Restrict a rule to receipts only or bank statements only if you don't want it applying everywhere
  • Scan a receipt and, if a rule shaped the result, you'll see exactly which one, so it's never a guess

New: What the AI has learned (Settings, AI)

  • When you promote a filed transaction into a standing rule with "Always do this," it now shows up here, separate from rules you typed yourself
  • Remove one with a tap; it will simply ask again next time and learn it back if you confirm the same categorisation again

New: export and import your rules

  • Your rules live on your own machine. Export them to a file, or bring rules in from a file, useful when moving to a new computer or sharing a starting set with another Orbit Finance user

_Universal macOS build (Apple Silicon + Intel), notarized by Apple. Windows installer and Android APK attached below._

v0.21.03 Ogos 2026

WhatsApp attachments, instalment invoicing, mixed-unit sales

WhatsApp sends the actual document now, plus instalment billing

Fixed: WhatsApp only sent text, not the document

  • Sending a quotation or invoice over WhatsApp opened the chat with a message, but the customer never received the actual document, just words describing it, so they had to ask for the real thing
  • Every document you send on WhatsApp now comes with a picture of it, ready to paste straight into the chat that opens
  • If you already use a verified WhatsApp Business (Cloud API) number, you can connect it in Settings, WhatsApp, and Orbit Finance will send the PDF itself automatically, no pasting required. This is entirely optional, the free WhatsApp link still works exactly as before if you skip it

New: bill a quotation in instalments

  • Turn one accepted quotation into several invoices on a payment schedule instead of one: a deposit and a balance, three monthly payments, or terms like 30:40:30
  • Split evenly or type the exact percentages your customer agreed to. Every instalment is shown to the sen before you create anything, and the stages always add up to the full quotation amount exactly, down to the last sen
  • Each instalment is a real invoice with its own number and due date

Fixed: your customer's details were missing from documents

  • Quotations and invoices showed only your customer's name, none of their registration number, address or contact details, while your own company details were always there in full
  • Both sides now print with the same information

New: a contact person on a company

  • Add who to address a document to on a company contact (their PIC), separate from the company name itself
  • Picking that customer now fills the "Attention" line on a new invoice or quotation automatically, so you type it once instead of every time

Fixed: a document mixing different units printed the wrong quantity label

  • A quotation combining, say, a monthly subscription with a few one-off items printed every quantity under one heading, so items sold by the piece could read as if they were sold by the month
  • Documents with more than one unit now group into clearly labelled sections; documents with just one unit (most of them) look exactly as before

Fixed: the product form asked for a SKU on things you can't stock

  • A stock number no longer shows up when adding a service, digital product, fee, deposit or subscription, only for physical goods, rentals and bundles
  • The Active switch for a product moved to the top of the form, next to its type, instead of a checkbox at the bottom

Fixed: a tooltip could appear to float over the wrong row

  • Hovering the edit or delete icon on a row in Cash Ledger, Deposit Slips or Purchase Orders could show its label sitting over the row above it. Tooltips now appear exactly where they should.

Nothing changed in how the app calculates, stores or numbers anything you already have. Your existing documents keep the layout and figures they had in 0.20.0.

v0.20.030 Julai 2026

Trial-license groundwork

Behind the scenes: groundwork for 30-day trial licenses

This release is preparatory, it adds the plumbing for a free 30-day trial of Orbit Finance, coming soon alongside the rest of the Orbit Suite. There is nothing new to see or do yet; trial signup isn't live, and this update changes nothing about how your existing license works.

What's in this release

  • Orbit Finance can now recognize a time-limited trial license (the same 30-day trial already available for Orbit HR and Orbit Doc), including a clear, friendly screen if a trial ever runs out, with a one-paste way to unlock instantly once you have a lifetime key
  • Your current lifetime license is completely unaffected, it has no expiry, and nothing about how it works has changed

Nothing changed in how the app calculates, stores, or numbers anything. Your data, your documents and your reports carry exactly the figures they did in 0.19.3.

_Universal macOS build (Apple Silicon + Intel), notarized by Apple. Windows installer and Android APK attached below._

v0.19.329 Julai 2026

A neater document

A neater document, and two more ways to make it yours

Everything in this release is about the paper your customer actually receives.

Fixed: the table on your documents now matches the rest of the app

  • The line-items table on invoices, quotations, sale orders, delivery orders, credit notes and purchase orders was a plain list of rows, unrelated to the tables you see on every screen inside Orbit Finance
  • It is now the same design: a bordered table with a shaded heading row and clean lines between items

Fixed: the totals no longer float beside the table

  • Subtotal, discount, tax and total sat in a separate block whose left edge stopped partway inside the description column, so the bottom of every document looked slightly misaligned
  • They are now part of the same table, lined up under the amount column where they belong

Fixed: the two payment QR codes read as one choice

  • If you use both a DuitNow QR and the online payment gateway, your invoice showed two codes at two different sizes, on opposite sides, with different captions. It looked like two unrelated things
  • Both now sit side by side at the same size, each with its name and one line explaining it, under your bank details. It reads as what it is: two ways to pay the same invoice

New: two more document templates

  • Bold fills the table heading with your brand colour and shades alternate rows. It is the one that stands out on a desk
  • Letterhead puts your logo on the left and the document title on the right at a larger size, with each detail line ruled off, like printed company stationery
  • Both sit alongside Classic, Modern and Compact in Settings, Appearance. The small previews now show what each layout actually does, not just its colour

Nothing changed in how the app calculates, stores or numbers anything. Your data, your documents and your reports carry exactly the figures they did in 0.19.2, and existing documents keep the layout you already chose.

v0.19.228 Julai 2026

Terms, payback, pairing

Payment terms, project payback, and a code to link your phone

New: invoices carry payment terms you set

  • Every invoice was silently net 30. The app worked out a due date from a 30-day term the form never let you change, so overdue status, coming-due, AR aging and the payment reminders all ran on a number you never chose
  • The invoice form now has payment terms in days and a due date, linked both ways. Type 30 and the date follows. Pick a date and the day count fills itself in
  • Moving the invoice date carries the terms with it, so net 30 stays net 30 instead of quietly becoming net 12
  • Receipts skip it. They are already paid

New: quotations have a validity

  • A quote now gets "valid for N days", defaulting to 14, and fills in the expiry date. Same two-way link as the invoice
  • Delivery orders are left alone. They carry a delivery date, not a validity

New: set your own defaults, once

  • Settings has a Document terms panel for the invoice term and the quote validity, so a business that trades on 14 days is not retyping 14 on every document
  • Leave a field blank to use the house default. Blank means default, not zero

New: projects tell you when you get your money back

  • Open a new branch or take on a job that needs spending up front, and the project now answers two questions the app could not answer before: how much is left to recover, and what the project has earned since it broke even
  • Type an initial investment on the project for money spent before it existed, and tick "capital outlay" on an expense for money spent inside the app. The two cannot double count
  • The payback card shows invested, recovered, remaining and a progress bar, with an estimated payback date where the numbers support one
  • Money spent on setup is taken out of running cost. Left in, a fit-out would be charged twice and payback would never arrive however well the project traded
  • Payback always covers the whole life of the project, so narrowing the report dates no longer looks like the investment reset this quarter

New: link a phone to your desktop with a code

  • Joining sync used to mean signing up at turso.tech, creating a database, copying a URL, creating a token, then typing two long random strings on a phone
  • The device that already syncs now issues a code, shown as text and as a QR. The second device pastes it and types only your sync passphrase
  • The code carries the workspace address and nothing readable. Never your passphrase, never the key that decrypts your books. Anyone who photographs the screen gets the encrypted copy and no way into it
  • Codes expire after 90 seconds and are never written to disk. The screen counts down so you can see it happen

Fixed

  • Project figures stopped 133px short of the dialog edge, with amounts crowded into the middle and empty space beside them. They now fill the width
  • The tabs inside the project dialog used a copy of the app's switcher instead of the switcher, which gave them the wrong height and an orange focus ring. Now identical to every other switcher in the app
  • Switching to a short tab no longer collapses the dialog and moves the tabs out from under your cursor

Your data, your documents and your reports are exactly as they were in 0.19.1. Existing invoices keep the due dates they already have.

v0.19.128 Julai 2026

The mobile release

Phones and tablets

Orbit Finance now runs on an Android tablet or phone as well as on your Mac and PC, and this release is the one that makes it fit the screen you are holding.

Fixed: the first screen after installing was cut off

  • On a phone, the setup wizard ran off the right edge. "Diri saya sendiri" and the business type dropdown were partly off screen, on the very first screen after installing. The whole wizard now fits a 360-point phone with room to spare
  • Nothing else on any screen ran off the edge. All 27 screens were measured at phone width to confirm it, and a check now runs on every build so it stays that way

Fixed: buttons were too small to tap

  • Tap targets were sized for a tablet held at arm's length, not a phone held in one hand. The dashboard alone had 73 controls below the comfortable size, four of them below the accessibility minimum. Every touch device now gets the full finger-sized target, phone, tablet or touchscreen laptop
  • The close button on the update notice and on the setup checklist now has a proper hit area instead of only its small glyph

Fixed: the iPad drew in a narrow column

  • The dashboard filled about half the screen with the rest left empty. It now fills the display
  • The status bar sat on top of the app's top bar. The app now clears it
  • A date and its label ran together as "30/06/2026Hari ini". They are now separated

Fixed: the setup checklist was in English inside a Bahasa Malaysia app

  • It sat next to correctly translated text and was the first thing a new user read. Now in both languages, on desktop as well

Nothing changed for how the app calculates, stores or prints anything. Your data, your documents and your reports are exactly as they were in 0.19.0.

v0.19.027 Julai 2026

Mark as lost, payment links, email

Marking a deal lost now works, and it actually changes something

Fixed: "Mark as lost" did nothing

  • Clicking "Mark as lost" on an invoice or a quotation had no effect at all. No dialog, no message, nothing changed. The reason box it tried to open could never appear in the app. It now opens properly and asks for a reason, which you can read back later on the row
  • Rental returns had the same fault, and were silently doing nothing for the same reason. Fixed too
  • A written-off invoice is now left alone. It stops appearing in your overdue count, drops off the dashboard's attention list, leaves the receivables ageing report, and comes off the customer's statement of account
  • Most importantly, the app stops chasing it. Automatic payment reminders were still being queued for customers whose deal you had already written off
  • A row no longer contradicts itself by reading "Lost" and "Overdue" at once, and a lost invoice that later gets paid in full can now be re-opened instead of being stuck as "Lost" forever

Fixed: uploading a QR code or a logo

  • The DuitNow QR and company logo upload failed for every image, whatever the format. The message blamed the file, which sent people looking for a problem that was not there. It works now

Getting paid

  • Your payment link now goes into the WhatsApp message. Reminders and invoices carry it, so a customer can tap and pay instead of asking you how. Your bank details still go along with it
  • Sending a receipt on WhatsApp now copies the receipt for you. WhatsApp cannot take a file from a link, so the receipt image is placed on your clipboard and you paste it into the chat
  • New: send by email. Invoices, reminders and receipts can go from your own email address, with the PDF properly attached. Set it up under Settings, Email. Works with Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo or your own company mail server

Moving over from another system

  • You can now set your own document numbering. Choose the prefix and the number to start from for invoices, receipts, quotations, orders and payments, so you carry on from your last number instead of restarting at 1. Under Settings, Document numbering
  • Previously, typing your own invoice number once meant the next one came back wrong. That is fixed, and an existing number can never be handed out twice

Receipts and payments

  • A receipt that mixes business and personal shopping can be split. Scan it, then untick the personal lines. They stay on screen so the entry still matches the paper in your hand, but only the business ones are recorded. Works for receipts sent through Telegram too
  • A payment now shows what happened to it: when it was taken and by whom, which invoices it was applied to, whether it settled them, and any refund that gave the money back

v0.18.027 Julai 2026

Statement scanning on a new PDF engine

Better bank statement scanning, and a few printing fixes

Bank statement scanning

  • A statement scanned sideways now reads correctly. If a page came out of the scanner rotated, the app was reading it rotated too, and often could not find the transactions. Rotated pages are now turned upright before they are read
  • Scanning has been rebuilt on a new PDF engine, with tighter handling of the files you upload. A bank statement is a document from outside your business, so the app now opens it with the riskier parts of the format switched off

Fixed

  • Printed payslips, EA forms and tax computations showed the amount twice, like "RM RM 3,800.00". Now just "RM 3,800.00"
  • Printed headings no longer use a long dash, which some printers rendered as a box
  • Invoices and receipts can be worked through with the keyboard. Tab to a row and press Enter or Space to open it, without reaching for the mouse

_Universal macOS build (Apple Silicon + Intel), notarized by Apple. Windows installer attached below._

v0.17.026 Julai 2026

Duplicate + WhatsApp everywhere + table polish

Repeat an order in two clicks, send anything on WhatsApp, and a lot of table polish

New: duplicate a document

  • Any quotation, sale order, delivery order, invoice or receipt can be duplicated into a fresh draft: same customer, same items, same prices
  • Ideal for a customer who reorders the same thing. The copy gets today's date and a new number, and never carries over the payment record or the e-Invoice submission of the original

New: send on WhatsApp from the whole sales module

  • WhatsApp used to work on invoices only. It now sends quotations, sale orders, delivery orders, receipts and credit notes as well
  • Each one is worded for what it actually asks: a quote asks for a decision and states its validity date, an order confirms, a delivery announces itself, a receipt thanks. An overdue invoice sends a reminder instead of the plain invoice text
  • Bank details are attached only to documents that ask for money, so a delivery order no longer reads like a second bill

New: paste an image instead of hunting for the file

  • Cmd+V / Ctrl+V now uploads whatever is on your clipboard: screenshot your DuitNow QR and paste it, paste a receipt, paste a statement. No more save-to-Desktop, browse, then delete

New: contact groups and categories

  • Both are pick-lists you manage in Settings → Contact groups & categories, instead of typing the same value slightly differently every time

Contacts, rebuilt around who you are adding

  • The form now starts with Customer / Supplier / Staff tabs, and the rest of it follows: staff get employment and payroll fields, a customer gets its price level, and nobody is asked for an SSM number they do not have
  • The list has one tab per type too, each with its own columns: SSM and balance for a customer or supplier, IC and phone for staff

Fixed assets: where it is, who answers for it, who disposed of it

  • Record whether an asset is in inventory (and where) or with a member of staff (and who, since when), plus the person in charge who answers for it either way
  • Assets can finally be edited - a cost or a date typed wrong was permanent
  • Disposing an asset now records who authorised it and why, on the asset and in the activity log

More document statuses

  • A quotation can be viewed, negotiating or revised, not just sent; an order can be in progress, ready or partly delivered; a delivery can be in transit or returned
  • In the list the status is a colour-coded label; you change it from the document preview

Fixed

  • Row buttons were cut off across the app. Lists with several actions hid the first ones behind the next column, so edit and PDF looked missing. Every list now shows its main action as a button with the rest in a menu
  • Amounts were truncated to things like "8,…" in wide tables such as Cash Summary. Numbers are never shortened now; wide tables scroll instead
  • Table menus ran off the screen on a small window, cutting their labels
  • Filters are now dropdowns of the values actually in the column, instead of a box you had to guess a spelling into
  • Phones: the page title and its button share one row, the toolbar and the pagination fit on one line each, search takes the full width while you type, and card view no longer shows unlabelled numbers or a stray line

_Universal macOS build (Apple Silicon + Intel), notarized by Apple. Windows installer attached below._

v0.16.026 Julai 2026

Sidebar menu control + DuitNow QR fix

Tidy up your menu, and a QR upload fix

New: choose what shows in your sidebar

  • Settings now has a Sidebar menu section: switch off any screen you do not use and it disappears from the left menu
  • Nothing is turned off or lost. The screen keeps working and you can still open it from search or a link, so it is safe to hide anything you only touch once a year
  • Grouped the same way your sidebar is, with a count and a one-click Show all

Fixed

  • DuitNow QR upload did nothing when the image came from an iPhone. Photos and screenshots from an iPhone are HEIC, which the app could not read, and it failed silently with no message. The picker now offers only formats that work, and tells you what to do if an image still cannot be read

_Universal macOS build (Apple Silicon + Intel), notarized by Apple. Windows installer attached below._

v0.15.026 Julai 2026

Notifications, personal & couple finances, statement scan rebuilt

Notifications, personal & couple finances, and a much better statement scan

New: Notification centre

  • A bell in the top bar with a grouped Today / Earlier activity list
  • Surfaces what needs you: overdue invoices, overdue bills, quotations past validity, receipts waiting to be confirmed, subscriptions renewing soon and bills due soon
  • Every alert opens the list already filtered to exactly the items it counted, so the next click is the action

Bank statement scanning, fixed

  • Long, multi-page statements used to fail outright. They are now read page by page, so a statement of any length completes
  • Scanned (photographed) pages and digital pages are each handled the right way
  • Progress shows "page 5 of 24" instead of an open-ended spinner, and if a page really cannot be read you still keep every other row, with a note saying which pages were skipped
  • PDF statements now work on every AI provider setting, not just the subscription one

New: Couple accounts

  • A new account type for two partners sharing their money
  • Tag any transaction, budget target or savings goal as yours, your partner's, or joint
  • See the split his / hers / ours, with your own names on it

Tax season

  • Upload your EA form on the tax screen, one per employer (changed jobs mid-year? add both). Orbit reads the figures, you check them, and your employment income, EPF and tax already deducted fill in
  • See what is actually left to pay, or the refund due, instead of a gross figure
  • Form E & CP8D for employers: headcount summary from your finalised payroll plus a CP8D listing you can export to CSV for MyTax

More for personal finances

  • Cash flow: money in, money out, what is left, month by month with a running balance and your savings rate
  • Financial health score: one number out of 100 over your savings rate, emergency fund, debt load, budget adherence and goal pace, with the weakest area called out first
  • Investments: track shares, ETFs, unit trusts, crypto and gold, and see them in your net worth
  • Savings challenges: short goals like "Save RM500 in 30 days" or a no-spend week, with live progress
  • Suggested budgets: get a starting target for each category based on what you actually spend, then apply them in one click
  • Spending insights: plain-language notes when a category jumps or subscriptions stack up
  • Savings goal progress now shows on your dashboard
  • Bank imports are categorised automatically using the rules you have already taught Orbit

Products & sales

  • New product types: Bundles, Subscriptions, Digital downloads, Deposits (held as a liability, not income), Fees, and Rentals with a full rental ledger
  • Choose which product types appear for your business
  • Auto-generated SKU with a configurable format, still editable
  • Mark quotations and invoices as Lost, with a postmortem report; person-in-charge on documents; refunds by amount, percentage or in full

Tables everywhere

  • One consistent toolbar: filter on any column, sort, Export to Excel, and view settings (list or card, density, show/hide columns)
  • Sticky headers, pagination, and columns that shed by priority on small screens instead of scrolling sideways

Polish

  • Receipts to confirm now sit in a single attention row that opens a focused pop-up, instead of long forms pushing the ledger down the page
  • Tidier, consistent top-bar controls
  • Many mobile refinements

_Universal macOS build (Apple Silicon + Intel). Windows installer attached below._

v0.14.023 Julai 2026

Mobile & tablet responsive

Mobile & tablet ready

Orbit Finance now works beautifully on phones and tablets, not just desktop.

Mobile experience

  • Bottom tab bar (Dashboard · Calendar · + · Contacts · More) with an elevated centre create button
  • Slide-up sheets for "New" and "More"; brand-logo company switcher in the top bar
  • Card-based lists (no more sideways scrolling), stacked layouts, and a mobile Point of Sale with a full-width product grid + slide-up cart
  • Everything stays pixel-perfect on desktop

Documents & lists

  • Create/edit any document (invoice, quotation, bill, credit note, deposit slip) as a full page instead of a cramped dialog
  • Consistent inline icon actions across every list (recurring invoices/expenses, purchase orders, quotations…)
  • Contact address now has proper State + City dropdowns with correct MyInvois state codes

Polish

  • Cash-flow forecast marker fix, dropdown refinements, smaller page titles, and many small UX touches

_Universal macOS build (Apple Silicon + Intel). Windows installer attached below._

v0.13.122 Julai 2026

Negotiate-the-price margin calculator + branded date picker

New in this release.

Margin calculator: negotiate the price + AI help

The margin calculator on quotations and invoices now shows a clean recommended-quotation card, and a new "Negotiate the price" section: key in a discount, or the price your client wants, and see the margin you would actually land on. "Ask AI" gives short, practical negotiation advice built only from your own numbers (never invented). It stays optional and never appears on the document your customer sees.

Tidier document actions

The row of buttons on quotations and sale orders is now a single primary action (for example "To invoice") with the rest tucked into a neat dropdown, instead of a cramped line of links.

Branded date picker everywhere

Every date field now opens Orbit Finance's own calendar instead of the grey operating-system one, so dates look and feel the same on macOS and Windows.

Smaller touches

  • New quotations, invoices and receipts open with the document name already filled in the title.
  • Exported PDFs (invoices, statements, statutory pack) now print on a clean white background.

Notes

  • Both installers are unsigned for now, so macOS Gatekeeper and Windows SmartScreen show a first-run warning. On macOS, right-click the app and choose Open. On Windows, choose More info then Run anyway.
v0.13.022 Julai 2026

Margin calculator + project profit tracking

New in this release.

Margin calculator (quotations and invoices)

Work out the right price before you quote. List your real costs (trainer days, materials per pax, travel), the percentages that eat into the price (commission, HRDC levy) and the margin you want to keep. Orbit Finance recommends the price that still leaves your full margin after every deduction, and shows the negotiation breakdown and the per-pax figures. It is optional, and it never appears on the document your customer sees.

Won quotations become projects

Mark a quotation as accepted and Orbit Finance offers to turn it into a project in one click. From then on, every cost and invoice you tag to that project is tracked against your plan, so you can see your real margin as the job runs, not just what you quoted.

Project insights

Projects now flag when your margin is coming in below plan, when costs go over budget, and what to price the next similar job at. Each point comes with a plain-language explanation.

Also

  • Exported PDFs (invoices, statements, statutory pack) now print on a clean white background.

Notes

  • Both installers are unsigned for now, so macOS Gatekeeper and Windows SmartScreen show a first-run warning. On macOS, right-click the app and choose Open. On Windows, choose More info then Run anyway.
v0.12.121 Julai 2026

Security fix + in-app updates

Security and reliability release.

Security

  • Removed internal test licence keys that were embedded in the app. They no longer ship in any build. If you use Orbit Finance with a real purchased key, nothing changes for you.

Updates

  • The app now downloads its own updates. When a new version is out you get a banner at the top, and Settings > About & updates can fetch and install the new build for you, no need to visit the website.

Notes

  • Both installers are unsigned for now, so macOS Gatekeeper and Windows SmartScreen show a first-run warning. On macOS, right-click the app and choose Open. On Windows, choose More info then Run anyway.
v0.12.020 Julai 2026

Automation suite, POS receipts & payments

The big one: Orbit now does the admin for you, and the counter got a proper till.

Automation that does the admin

A new Automation Centre runs the busywork in the background and asks for one tap before anything happens. Every automation is off until you switch it on, and nothing is ever sent or posted without your approval.

  • Invoice reminders. Chases overdue invoices on a schedule (3, 7, 14 and 30 days past due) and queues a WhatsApp reminder for you to approve.
  • Bank auto-match. Pairs imported bank lines to open invoices and bills by amount, reference and date. Accept with one click in Reconcile.
  • Cash-flow forecast and alerts. A new Forecast screen projects your balance 30, 60 or 90 days out and marks the low point. Alerts warn you about a low balance, a spike in overdue invoices or an unusually large expense.
  • Compliance reminders. SST-02, EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB, CP204 and Form C deadlines, filtered to what actually applies to your business, with reminders 7 days and 1 day ahead. They show on the Calendar too.
  • Stock reorder. Drafts a purchase order when stock drops to its reorder level.
  • Payroll run. Near payday, prepares the month's payroll for approval, then generates the EPF, SOCSO, EIS and PCB files plus a salary giro file ready to upload to your bank.
  • Bills inbox folder. Point Orbit at a folder, drop supplier invoices in, and it reads each one, checks it is not a duplicate, and queues a draft bill.
  • Learn as you file. When you recategorise a transaction, Orbit offers to make it a rule so it files itself next time.
  • Your own rules. Build simple trigger to action rules: when an invoice is 7 days overdue, when an expense is over RM1,000, at month end.

Point of sale

  • Print real receipts on a thermal receipt printer (58mm or 80mm). Pick your printer, set auto-print, and reprint or void from Recent sales.
  • Payment methods: cash, card, e-wallet and DuitNow, plus split payments. Assign each item to a payment method and the SST is shared evenly across them.
  • Quick cash buttons for fast tendering, and change calculated for you.
  • SST at the till. Taxable products now carry tax through to the receipt, and till sales feed the SST-02 return alongside your invoices.
  • Barcode scanning. Scan with any USB barcode scanner to add an item.
  • Hold and resume. Park a sale to serve the next customer, then pick it back up.

Invoicing and documents

  • Pay by QR. Invoices can carry a scannable link to an online card or FPX checkout, alongside your DuitNow QR, now in one tidy payment block.
  • Document templates. Choose a layout (classic, modern or compact) and a typeface for your invoices, quotations and receipts.

Elsewhere

  • Calendar. Invoice and bill due dates plus recurring renewals on one month grid, with the month's net.
  • Dashboard. A collection rate card showing how much of what you billed you have actually collected.
  • Quick actions. A "New" menu in the top bar to start an invoice, quotation, expense or contact from anywhere.
  • Request a feature from inside the app, straight to the public ideas board.
  • Financial Statements Pack. Choose where the PDF is saved, open it where it landed, and AI can draft the activities narrative.

Notes

The statutory file layouts (EPF, SOCSO, PCB) are best effort and human readable. The amounts are correct, but please check the column layout against the latest agency specification before submitting.

Automations run while the app is open and catch up when you reopen it.

v0.11.018 Julai 2026

Contacts bulk add, smarter contact forms, What's New

Contacts, upgraded

  • Bulk add contacts. Paste a list (one per line: Name, Phone, Email), pick the type and group once, and add them all in one go.
  • Type is now a multi-select dropdown. Pick any mix of Customer, Supplier and Employee with clear removable chips instead of checkboxes.
  • Groups made easy. Group / Category is now a dropdown of your existing groups. Type anything new and it becomes a category on save.
  • Smarter forms by contact type. SSM registration, tax identity and price level only appear for customers and suppliers. Employee contacts get an Employment section: designation, basic salary, bank details, EPF and SOCSO numbers, shared with Payroll.

Telegram receipts

  • Scan later. If a receipt arrived while AI was offline, scan it straight from the inbox afterwards. The result is saved, so fields stay filled.

What's new, in the app

  • Changelog inside Orbit. A new "What's new" entry in the profile menu shows release notes. New versions announce themselves once, right in the app.
v0.10.017 Julai 2026

Projects, Timesheet, Bills & Income, Statutory pack

  • Transaction rules: auto-categorise transactions with your own rules.
  • Statutory financial-statements pack: a draft-for-audit binder (P&L, balance sheet, notes) with repeating page headers and page numbers.
